The Exchange Pavilion
Turn a temporary platform into a meaningful encounter with a lasting next step.
A platform for meaningful exchange
The Exchange Pavilion proposes an Expo environment organised around meeting, making and exchanging ideas. A folded sheet becomes the design source: a timber roof opens like a fan above three connected courts. Its structure gives the pavilion a memorable silhouette while creating shade and a clear sequence inside.
A folded timber roof opens across craft, innovation and conversation courts. Visitors encounter the people behind a story, explore tangible ideas and carry the discussion beyond the pavilion.
A craft court introduces human skill. An innovation gallery lets visitors explore tangible ideas rather than read a wall of claims. A shared forum brings the two together in conversation. Ceramic surfaces and restrained screens give each chapter a different sensory role within the same material world. The experience remains legible without a media show.
A working craft court introduces the people behind the story.
Cadimore would develop the platform narrative, stakeholder messages, audience journey and programme architecture. National or institutional stories would be researched with the relevant contributors before content development. Modular construction and a potential second life would be considered with technical partners from the outset. The intended outcome is a visit that moves beyond spectacle into curiosity, dialogue and an invitation to continue the exchange.
Meet the knowledge
A working craft court introduces the people behind the story. The fan roof opens toward a brighter innovation court, linking skill to possibility.
Meet a maker, try a demonstration and join a hosted conversation.
Explore the future
Tangible demonstrations make complex ideas approachable. A curved ceramic wall leads from individual discovery into a shared forum.
A hands-on joinery demonstration makes the pavilion’s timber structure and the skill behind it understandable.
Continue the exchange
Talks and hosted conversations turn interest into an onward connection. A visible exit and take-away content complete the journey without blocking flow.
