The Stillwater Retreat makes renewal the organising principle of a coastal hospitality concept. A spring becomes a sequence of thresholds: a narrow channel at arrival, shallow ripples through a garden and an open mirror pool facing the sea. The changing scale of water gently shifts the guest from movement to attention. Travertine, teak and linen form a restrained material language. Courtyards offer privacy without isolation; shaded colonnades let the landscape remain part of the journey. Reflective ceiling discs borrow the behaviour of ripples, bringing light into still spaces. The experience does not depend on a scheduled show: sunrise, weather and the rhythm of the garden provide variation. Cadimore would define the guest promise, cultural and landscape story, sensory principles and service blueprint. Arrival, dining, wellness and departure would share that promise while retaining different emotional roles. Programming could include guided coastal walks, small maker encounters and seasonal dining. The ambition is a place guests remember for how it made them feel, with operational clarity supporting every quiet detail.
The visitor journey

A tactile garden and shaded treatment courts offer private, opt-in rituals. Water broadens and the sea becomes visible between the colonnades.
A sea-facing pavilion gives guests space for reflection and conversation. A garden loop returns to the house without crossing the busiest service routes.
