Executive Circle
Concept design · Cadimore
Summary
A shaded circular forum gives a leadership discussion the physical character of an exchange rather than a lecture.
The Brief
Reduce the distance between speakers and participants. The room must support attention from several directions, with a centre that remains approachable and a perimeter suitable for listening.
The Inspiration
A circle has no single privileged end. Its social geometry offers a useful alternative to a conventional stage-and-audience arrangement.
The Concept
A low central platform sits within a curved seating field, beneath a soft canopy. Planting and open views temper the formality of the discussion without distracting from its centre.
The Experience
A moderated opening establishes the question, followed by exchanges between speakers and contributions from the surrounding audience. The spatial arrangement keeps each contribution part of the same conversational field.
The Outcome
The forum makes the form of the event agree with its purpose. Leadership is presented through an exchange of perspectives, with the centre and audience held in a visibly shared space.
