Desert Light Grove
Concept design · Cadimore
Summary
Illuminated vertical fins create a grove of light along a desert-inspired pedestrian route.
The Brief
Build an evening identity through a repeated element rather than a single monument. The route needs rhythm, comfortable pauses and a clear relationship between planting and light.
The Inspiration
Desert vegetation and the cadence of walking suggest a landscape experienced in intervals. The grove translates that rhythm into slim, upright forms.
The Concept
Warm-lit fins vary in height along two planted edges. Their changing profile pulls the eye forward, while low illuminated benches provide places to leave the main flow.
The Experience
People enter a broad central walk, then move between pools of warm light. From a bench, overlapping fins create a denser view than the open route reveals.
The Outcome
Light becomes a way of giving the walk depth and orientation. The grove establishes an evening destination through repetition, planted edges and the deliberate alternation of movement and rest.
