Petal Canopy
Concept design · Cadimore
Summary
A translucent floral canopy connects a delicate sculptural encounter with a planted gathering landscape and an opening ensemble phrase.
The Brief
Make a flower inhabitable while protecting its sense of lightness. The visitor needs a clear place beneath the petals and a closer encounter with their layered detail.
The Inspiration
A flower’s opening changes the relationship between enclosure and exposure. The project takes that transition into a canopy, a garden route and the movement of an ensemble.
The Concept
Rose-toned translucent petals lift above branching stems. Lower petal curves become seating in the landscape, while the performance translates the opening into gathered hands, unfurling arms and widening circles.
The Experience
Visitors approach the flower silhouette, enter beneath the petals and pause beside planting. The live phrase begins in a compact formation and opens gradually, giving the material’s delicacy a human scale.
The Outcome
The canopy brings recognition and shelter into one gesture. Layered light gives the work depth, while the lower gathering spaces make its floral identity useful as a public place.
