A Landscape Between Pages
Concept design · Cadimore
Summary
An open book becomes a landscape of spreading pages, whose folds hold seats, sheltered views and several ways to explore the same story.
The Brief
The book needs to remain legible as an object while offering several ways to inhabit its pages. The brief pairs a strong spine with folds that support circulation, seating and separate pockets of discovery.
The Inspiration
A book holds the possibility of another world within an ordinary object. The concept draws on the way pages open, overlap and frame a reader’s attention, allowing that private experience to become spatial and social.
The Concept
Spreading page-like surfaces grow from a clear central spine. Their folds create seats and sheltered views, while layered openings connect one part of the landscape to another. The form offers a sequence of discoveries within a familiar outline.
The Experience
Visitors follow the pages, sit within their folds and look through the layered openings. Close details encourage touch and curiosity. There is no single prescribed reading: quiet occupation and shared exploration can take place side by side.
The Outcome
An open book becomes common ground for imagination. Its layered pages hold seats, passages and different points of view, creating a shared place that allows each visitor to find a story of their own.
