The Loop of Togetherness
Concept design · Cadimore
Summary
A paperclip becomes a coral and teal landscape of connected loops, holding play, planting and informal gathering within one continuous line.
The Brief
A paperclip joins without enclosing. The brief uses that quality to connect play, planting and rest in an open landscape, giving each activity its own pocket within a continuous loop.
The Inspiration
The paperclip holds separate things together with a simple bend of material. Its modest usefulness inspires a generous idea of togetherness: people can belong to one place while occupying it in different ways.
The Concept
Coral and teal loops expand into connected paths and low sculptural edges. Planting and seating sit within the curve, while a pattern activity sits along a reachable section. The familiar clip outline holds the whole setting together.
The Experience
Visitors follow the loops, sit beside planted pockets or take part in the low pattern activity. Others can observe from nearby seats or pass through. Active and quiet participation share the landscape without requiring everyone to do the same thing.
The Outcome
A modest act of holding together becomes a colourful setting for public life. The continuous loops connect play, planting and rest, giving different groups space to occupy the same landscape in their own ways.
