Digital Atelier
A digital atelier places physical materials beside enlarged projections of their colour, texture and movement.
The Brief
Connect the appeal of a digital image with an understanding of the material behind it. Visitors need to compare, handle and discuss rather than simply watch.
The Inspiration
An atelier reveals decisions through samples and working surfaces. The project extends that close material scrutiny into an image large enough to surround the visitor.
The Concept
A sweeping projection of thread-like forms faces tables of textiles and samples. The warm, dark interior keeps attention on the relationship between the work surface and the moving image.

The Experience
Visitors encounter the projection, then approach a material table. Looking alternates with handling and conversation, allowing the digital representation to be tested against the texture of a physical sample.
The Outcome
The experience gives digital spectacle a material anchor. It makes the passage from thread and swatch to expressive visual field understandable through direct comparison.
